More than two dozen 10-by-10-foot vendor spaces are planned for businesses wanting to participate in the event presented by Transmission Technology. Proceeds for all booth rentals will go toward Teach for America, a national teacher corps of recent college graduates who commit two years to teach and effect change in under-resourced urban and rural public schools on the Big Island and around the country.
More than 250 cars, motorcycles and trucks are expected to compete for trophies in a dozen classifications during the day, and the main stage will host live music and physique competitions for men and women. Zumba, a tug-of-war between the Hawaii County police officers and firefighters and taiko also will be featured.
The event is free to the public, but donations for the Hawaii Island Food Basket will be encouraged.
Application forms for vendors, as well as entry forms for the car show and physique competition and a field layout for the 2016 Summer Car Show and Fitness Expo are online at transtechhawaii.com. Vendor booth information also is available by calling 313-0025.
